We don’t want to get too carried away, but let it be said: whoever decided to bring Snoop Dogg into the commentary box for an NHL game is one of the smartest people in the history of humankind.
In the kind of thing that supporters of the two teams involved would almost definitely hate – because they care about what’s going on – the legendary rapper was given the microphone for a very different reason during the LA Kings’ 5-2 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins.

And bless the NHL, a scuffle broke out between the two teams during the first period, much to Snoop’s joy.
After egging players on to “drop the sticks” and settle their frustrations, Snoop provided such insights such as, “Who is number three for us [LA]?”, while also clarifying whether referees are allowed to step in and stop players from one-on-one tussles.
You know, standard commentary gold.
