HBO drops 90-second teaser for Game of Thrones season 8, confirms premiere date

Finally, after almost a year of unbearable teasing, HBO has dropped the first proper teaser trailer for the final season of Game of Thrones, along with an official premiere date.

Hell yes! Winter IS coming and we have a date, meaning we know exactly when Game of Thrones season 8 is coming to Australia. Buckle up, April 14 is when the madness begins in the US, meaning the show will hit screens Down Under on April 15.

In August 2018, HBO teased the upcoming season with a few seconds of previously unseen footage.

Then, in December, they shared a 30-second teaser that didn’t reveal any new footage but contained lots of symbolism for what’s to come.

Just last week, we got a sneak peek at the first official footage from season 8 in a promo of HBO’s upcoming shows, which also included Watchmen and Big Little Lies.

And today, HBO has given us the gift of one minute and thirty seconds of pure goodness for all of us to drool over. After months and months of rumours, production delays and speculation, we finally have the first big teaser for what is the final season of one of the most successful TV series of all time. Can it get any more epic than this?
