Super Smash Bros., anime and Dragon Ball Super are all pretty great, but you know what’s even better? A combination of all three.
Youtuber Shiya Moegin has made millions of dreams come true by creating the ultimate anime: Super Smash Dragon Brothers.
At least, that’s what I like to think the show would be called if Shiya Moegin’s fantastic YouTube concept became a reality.
In what can only be described as one of the best things to happen on the internet in 2018, Shiya Moegin has parodied the opening of Dragon Ball Super with ripped, anime-style versions of your favourite Super Smash Bros. characters.
Yep, Mario, Mewtwo, Donkey Kong and Lucario have all been given Super Saiyan makeovers. Even Doctor Mario and Luigi look like they would give Goku and Vegeta a run for their money.
The video was only released just a couple of week ago and has already been viewed over 450,000 times. Fans are hungry for more Dragon Ball x Super Smash Bros. mash-ups, but it seems they’ll be waiting a while.
According to Shiya Moegin, the video took a year and three months to make. He began work on the video way back in March of 2018, and even added a few more fighters after the announcement of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Shiya Moegin admits the fighters look different to the original models because he traced some of the artwork. The entire video was put together using his impressive hand-drawn animation skills.
The video might be a fan creation, but the interest surrounding it is very real. Viewers have already started expressing their desire for not only a Super Smash Bros. anime, but for Dragon Ball characters to be included in the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate game.
It might just be a pipe dream at the moment, but stranger things have happened. I need to make a wish to Shenron…
