ICYMI: SpaceX launched a rocket to the ISS for a very special delivery

Christmas is fast approaching and many places are feeling the festive spirit – the International Space Station is no exception.

To help relieve the pressure on the astronauts who’ll spend the Christmas holidays in space and away from their families, SpaceX was contracted to send supplies up to the space station just before Christmas so the astronauts can have their very own Christmas dinner.

A Christmas turkey, fruitcake and cranberry sauce were all sent up in Space X’s Dragon, alongside worms and mice for ageing and muscle studies.

In previous years, astronauts have even decorated the space station with Santa hats, stockings and even a little Christmas tree.
