This viral tweet about capsicums has us questioning our culinary choices

They say you learn something new every day, and in the 21st century, the chances are you’ll be learning it from the internet.

For most, it was just a normal day when they stumbled across Twitter user @Callmeamye’s life-changing and apparently inaccurate (we’ll get to that later) tweet. Which, at the time of writing, has over 266,000 likes.

Being Techly, a know-it-all site which answers the big, deep, need-to-know questions like ‘how long is the perfect nap?‘ and ‘why does noisy eating annoy me so much?‘, we have a confession.

We did actually know this fact. Well, actually, we thought it was a fact until botanist James Wong spilled the REAL tea on capsicums.

Tell us James, TELL US.

Wait, what.

Remember, next time you’re enjoying fajita night, you’re enjoying swollen ovaries.

We don’t know whether we should be thankful or not to James for this revelation, but at least it actually was a revelation.
