This teenage witch is all grown up.
If you’re hoping for Salem the talking cat and light humour about the agony of going through puberty and discovering you’re a witch, then you’re in for a bit of a shock.
’90s kids everywhere will have rejoiced when Netflix announced it would be releasing a new series based on the Sabrina the Teenage Witch comic book series from the 1960s.
However, with the creators of Riverdale behind the new series, it’s unsurprising to find this new spin on the comic book has a dark twist.
Just watch the trailer – it’s downright scary.
The new series stars Kiernan Shipka (Mad Men) as Sabrina Spellman, a teenager who has to make a deal with the Devil on her 16th birthday. Does she decide to live a normal life? Or swear herself over to becoming a witch? Not to give too much away, but obviously, nothing goes quite to plan.
The new series debuts on October 26, just in time for Halloween.
It might not be the bright, bubbly TV show of the 90s, but we reckon we’re in for a treat (or trick).
