People are putting tinfoil in the microwave, and it’s teaching them a very serious lesson.
There have been some pretty weird viral trends over the last couple of years (eating tide pods is apparently still a thing), and the latest internet sensation to gather attention is transforming balls of tinfoil into extremely satisfying, shiny metal balls.
Believe it or not, some people actually have the time to polish their tinfoil to this extent.
However, as with all internet sensations, the trolls are lurking on the vulnerable and, well, stupid.
Yall know this happened if you microwave foil for 3 minutes? pic.twitter.com/k4y51FyUN3

There are several kitchen-related life lessons ingrained in most of us since birth, including “don’t stick a knife in the toaster” and “don’t put any kind of metal in the microwave”.
It turns out quite a lot of people missed those memos:

Most of the internet has no time or sympathy for the people foolish enough to fall for the trick.
If you destroyed your microwave by trying to make a tinfoil ball shiny and round because you heard someone on the internet did it,
C’mon now. You kinda deserved it.

If you're dumb enough to put tinfoil in the microwave, that's on you

You know kids these days are fucking idiots when they microwave tinfoil.

Please don’t be stupid enough to try this at home.
