Sometimes it’s hard to imagine dating before the introduction of apps, isn’t it?
Once top of the game, Tinder is now facing plenty of competition from apps offering a new swing on the tried-and-tested “swipe right”.
So, in an effort to up the romance of… erm… using a phone to find the love of your life, Tinder has announced it will be testing two-second looping videos on certain profiles.
In a press release, the company said the move was a way to “show more personality”, which apparently is “the best way to get more right swipes”.
Condensing your personality into a two-second loop. Easy.
The feature will allow you to upload your own video and then turn it into a loop within the app.
As if things couldn’t get more exciting, they also announced the potential introduction of nine photos instead of six.
Hopefully, the more your Tinder match sees of you, the less likely they’ll be to ghost you if you meet in the flesh.
Currently, the only countries trialling this Tinder update are Canada and Sweden, so if you’re desperate to show the Tinder-world your skydive video loop, you may be waiting a little while.
Who said romance is dead?
