Forget Crocodile Dundee or that bloke who punched a kangaroo, because this chick just became the ballsiest Australian ever.
Real estate agent Melissa Hatheier was enjoying a refreshing dip in Cronulla’s Oak Park rock pool on Monday morning when she noticed a shadow slinking around in the water underneath her.
At this point, most people would have shrieked like a banshee and desperately floundered in an effort to drag themselves out of the pool.
Incredibly, this absolute badass gave it a closer inspection before actually swimming after the bloody thing and wrestling it into her arms.
But it wasn’t for show or to prove anything to her spectators — she just wanted to free it from it’s rocky prison.
Hatheier picked up the shark and tipped it over the edge of the rock pool into the ocean in an act that’s seen her dubbed “the shark wrangler”.
The video was then shared by her workplace Facebook page, Cronulla Real Estate.
“Our in house Shark Wrangler Melissa Hatheier wrestling a shark out of Oak Park Rock Pool yesterday morning! Nice work Mel! #nextlevel #classicMel”
Facebook users quickly took to the comments to show their appreciation for the act of bravery.
“Hahaha yes Mel you freaking mad dawg, that was legendary✊?,” one person said.
Another added, “This is hands down the most Australian thing I have ever seen, holy mackeral.”
