It was always going to be awkward when David Koch and Monique Wright came up against alt-right political activist Milo Yiannopoulos on Monday morning’s Sunrise.
Yiannopoulos, who describes himself as an internet supervillain, is the former tech editor of Breitbart and has made a name for himself by saying shocking things about women, Muslims, transgender people and anything else that will ‘trigger’ liberals.
It didn’t take long for things to get ugly, with Koch and Wright attempting to take Yiannopoulos to task on his controversial ideas.
“Do you actually believe in what you say, or are you just trying to stir the pot?” asked Koch.
“A lot of people have that question. I don’t know why it should be weird that a gay guy should be sceptical or fearful of Islam,” Yiannopoulos replied.
Many took to Twitter to voice their disgust at Yiannopoulos even appearing on the show in the first place.
“Sunrise” is pure vanguardist fascism anyway, but to have Milo on is fairly despicable.

@sunriseon7 Please don’t give a pulpit to people like Milo. By all means present different sides, but do it through rational discourse.
