Everyone’s calling this EPIC new show the “next Game of Thrones”

The world is a cold, dark, and generally awful place at the moment, as the human race faces the grim prospect of at least 12 months without a new Game of Thrones episode. Yet thankfully, there might be something to tide us over for some of that time.

‘Britannia’ is a co-production of Sky and Amazon Prime, set all the way back in 43 A.D.

The trailer looks kind of amazing and in parts, somewhere between slightly and incredibly horrifying.

The show will follow three separate groups all vying for dominance of the land that would later come to be known as – prepare yourselves for a twist – Great Britain.

Britannia will feature an ensemble cast including The Walking Dead’s David Morrissey, Kelly Reilly of the Oscar-nominated Flight and even Ian McDiarmid, who you’ll better know as Emperor Palpatine, that guy who makes the word ‘good’ sound super creepy.

There’s also Mackenzie Crook of the UK Office-fame – who will probably be hoping you don’t recognise him.

Of course, unfortunately, you’ll also have to wait a while for this too, with the show set to premiere in 2018.
