Techly Talks with The Onion: Secrets to their success and how to produce satire in the Age of Trump

The Onion have landed in Australia.

The satirical newspaper that started in in Madison, Wisconsin back in 1988 has evolved into a global media behemoth.

They now find themselves in Australia for the Sydney Opera House’s Antidote festival and we were lucky enough to have a sit down with managing editor Marnie Shure and senior writer Dan McGraw for Techly Talks.

Check out the full video in the player above, as we covered off on the importance of satire, their magic formula and how to deal with the un-satiriseable (definitely not a word) Donald Trump.

Marnie and Dan will be featuring in The Onion: Live at the Sydney Opera House on Sunday, September 3rd.
