The wait is almost over.
The third instalment of Netflix’s much-hyped rise and fall of drug lord Pablo Escobar is here. Narcos Season 3 promises violence, action and a sweet soundtrack.
The trailer begins with a foreboding narration – “Cocaine cartels are all about succession: That day Pablo went down, the Cali Cartel became public enemy number one. They called themselves the Gentlemen of Cali – the biggest drug lords you’ve probably never heard of.”
This season places itself rebuilding a world where Escobar is out of the picture, but the Cali Cartel is being run “like a Fortune 500 company”.
“Led by four powerful godfathers” as Netflix describes it, “this cartel operates much differently than Escobar’s, preferring to bribe government officials and keep its violent actions out of the headlines. Just as the cartel boss, Gilberto (Damian Alcazar), announces a bold plan to walk away from the business, DEA agent Javier Peña (Pedro Pascal) enlists the help of American and Colombian law enforcement to take it down. This season opens up a complex and ruthless world of new figures.”
The third season of Narcos will be released on Netflix on September 1.
