Reddit is one of the strange places on the Internet where funny animal videos live alongside cesspools of filth.
In a recent interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Alexis Ohanian, the co-founder of Reddit shared his favourite post on the site. He spoke about the impact the site had on his worldview – “the platform has given me so many more reasons to be hopeful, less scared…feel more connected to my fellow humans than any other social network”.
So, his favourite post? It’s a simple tale about humans helping other humans which just happens to fly in the face of Trump’s crusade on selfish and unhelpful immigrants.
In response to an r/AskReddit about hitchhiking experiences, Reddit user rhoner spoke about a family of Mexican immigrants who helped him when no other motorist would.

They didn’t ask for money, they gave him some of their food, and they simply bought a replacement tool with rhoner broke theirs.
The father in the family gave the simple explanation “Today you, tomorrow me” before driving off. Since then, rhoner has been inspired to live the same philosophy.
In the 5 months since I have changed a couple of tires, given a few rides to gas stations and, once, went 50 miles out of my way to get a girl to an airport. I won’t accept money. Every time I tell them the same thing when we are through:
“Today you…tomorrow me”.
