Aussies are chuffed that Steve Irwin is getting a permanent spot on the Walk of Fame

Steve Irwin will join 2982 stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The infamous Australian environmental advocate is being remembered by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce for his “outstanding contribution to the entertainment industry through his wildlife documentaries”.

Steve’s family, Terry, Bindi and Robert, have continued to honour his legacy through their work at Australia Zoo. In a statement, Terry spoke about Steve’s message of wildlife conservation – “Steve has always said that he didn’t care if anyone remembered him, as long as they remembered his message. I truly believe that this recognition for Steve’s achievements will ensure that his message of wildlife conservation is remembered.”

Steve Irwin is most famous as The Crocodile Hunter, but he has a long list of credits to his name, including Happy Feet, Dr. Dolittle 2. He appeared on American chat shows as part of his U.S. tours. In fact, Robert Irwin recently baffled audiences during a talk show spot.

Bindi Irwin remembered her dad and the important conservation work he campaigned for, saying “to have his name on a Hollywood Star means the world as we carry on his important work”.

I am beyond excited to share with you all that we have just received the news that Dad will be honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Dad changed the world by reaching out to people through their television screens to bring them on the adventure of a lifetime. To have his name on a Hollywood Star means the world as we carry on his important work. #HollywoodWalkOfFame
