Obama’s photographer highlights Trump’s failures through throwbacks

Pete Souza, who was the Chief Official White House Photographer during the Obama administration has come to be in the forefront of the public lens after his Instagram has gained him 1.2 million followers since its creation in February.

On the surface his feed, screams “Memoir to President Obama” as he shares with the world a select few of the 2 million + images he shot during President Obama’s 8 years in office.

However, if you look closer you may find that what he shares, seems to coincide with what now President Trump is up to. In other words, Souza is shining light on just how different Donald Trump’s first 100 days in office have been, compared to that of Barack Obamas.

The 62-year-old’s witty use of throwbacks are being hailed as the ultimate Trump troll. As Souza continues to use the behaviour and decisions of the president’s administration as the decider for his next #TB

This clever use of social media to subtly chuck shade at president Trump, has not only gained Souza an impressive Instagram following, but has also gained him a book deal. Publisher Little, Brown, and Company have said that the book would, titled Obama: An Intimate Portrait, will be a collection of 300 photographs accompanied by narrations by Souza, to give context to the memories captured.

In an interview with The New York Times, Souza revealed that the collection would portray the range of emotions and situations the Obama went through over the course of his 8 year presidency,”there are pictures that certainly show him stressing in the Situation Room over major decisions, but also pictures of him interacting in fun moments with his girls”.

Following Trump’s 100th day as Presidents rally where he directly attacked the press, Souza uploaded a photo of Obama smiling after having just had a 57-minute press conference.

As Trump decided to skip the White House Correspondents Association Dinner this year, naturally Souza had to throw back to Michelle snatching Obama’s phone away before last years dinner, a dinner that Barack actually attended.

Michelle Obama snatching an iPhone away from her husband. Well, not really. Before last year's White House Correspondents Association dinner, our digital team produced a spoof film about the President's future. It's worth watching on YouTube. (Search "obama whca 2016" on YouTube)

In recognition of the facts that Trump has not left America in his first 100 days of presidency, a photograph of Barack Obama with troops in Iraq within his first 100 days was posted.

Comparatively, Trump’s Instagram shots are unprofessional and often superimposed with Trump’s 3AM Tweets.
