Turns out Tom Hardy in real life is exactly what you expect Tom Hardy to be like.
The Mad Max and Dark Knight Rises star clicked into full superhero mode in his home town of Richmond in south-west London.
According to reports, Hardy hunted down two suspected moped thieves – chasing them through gardens and a building site.
A witness gave this A+ summation of the incident:
“It was mental — like he’d switched to superhero mode in an action movie. Two boys on the nicked moped had jumped a red light and smashed into a car,” Arun Pullen said.
“Tom must have been walking down the road. He went off like a shot in pursuit and looked furious.
If the kid had been dumb enough to resist I reckon Tom would have given him a good hiding.”
And then, because Hardy knows the value of a killer line once you nail the bad guy, he proclaimed,
“I caught the c***t”.
And just in case you think this might’ve just been some Hollywood BS, here’s a statement on the situation from Scotland Yard.
“At 12:34hrs on Sunday, 23 April a motorcycle was in collision with a car in Sheen Road, Richmond.
“Officers were not pursuing the motorcycle, but happened to be present at the location at the time of the collision.
“Two 16-year-old boys immediately made off from the scene. The pillion passenger was detained by police a short distance away and was arrested on suspicion of taking a vehicle without consent and allowing to be carried.
“The rider of the motorcycle was detained by a member of the public in Church Road and then arrested by officers on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and being disqualified from driving.”
Never change, Tom.
