Bill Nye (yes, the science guy) has teamed up with Wired to dispel a few myths about science, and to scoff at humanity’s ignorance.
His Science Support segment has come out in preparation for his new Netflix original, Bill Nye Saves The World, which looks like an absolute cracker.
Surrounded by scientific paraphernalia, most notably Nye’s woolly mammoth named Steve, Nye is presented with Twitter questions which cover pretty much all aspects of science. He speaks about the double rainbow phenomenon, addresses the function of magnets, and even defines the fourth dimension.
To his credit, he tackles the question “If we evolved from monkeys, then why are there still monkeys?” remarkably well. “Ha!” he exclaims, “That’s brilliant! You’re the first guy to ever wonder about that!”
Nye believes that humanity could power the planet with wind, solar, geothermal and tidal energy. And, for the record, he believes that “real living” is an avocado and a poached egg.
Check it out for yourself.
