Louis Theroux is fearless…to an extent.
The understated British comedian has never been one to shy away from a challenge.
He spent two weeks in one of the most notorious prisons in the world, San Quentin:
And not content with that, he took on the ruthlessly litigious Church of Scientology, and grilled Nazis, murderers and drug traffickers in their homes.
So everyone was a little bit surprised when the great man admitted even he had limitations during a live Twitter Q&A last night.
It turns out that going into Syria and having a chin wag with Islamic State is where Louis draws the line.
“I would have been very curious to see what was going on in the Islamic State. I find religious extremism really bizarre, but also fascinating.
But, I think it was mainly fear that prevented me going over there. I’ve seen too much about journalists being taken hostage and being beheaded, so I steered clear of that one.”
ISIS are notorious for kidnapping journalists.
James Foley and Steven Sotloff have been killed by their captors, while John Cantlie, Richard Engle and Peter Curtis were all taken by militants in the area.
Obviously it would be complete madness for such a high-profile star like Louis to wade into ISIS territory, but it’s just nice to know that he knows that as well.

Louis has however recently revealed the next topic he’s going to be tackling, and that’s the biggest one of all: Donald Trump.
Fans of the journalist were beyond pumped that he had the giant xenophobic pumpkin in his crosshairs, and you can guarantee that it will be must-watch content when it comes out later this year.
