The world’s most translated literary work, The Holy Bible, just got another edition – now you can read it in emoji!
The creator of Bible Emoji, who only identified themselves as ? (AKA ‘cool-dude-with-sunglasses emoji’), said that the objective behind the emoji translation of biblical texts is to share the gospel with more people via a fun method.
“I thought if we fast forwarded 100 years in the future, an emoji bible would exist,” ? told Guardian Australia. “So I thought it’d be fun to try to make it.”
? created a distinctive translation program equipped with more than 80 emojis, as well as 200 corresponding words to translate the Good Book.
Accordingly, when ? started tweeting biblical text and Jesus’ message via emoji-style on the account @Bible Emoji, it gained a cult following.
In fact the account has become so popular that the creator has now put the 3300-page Emoji Bible on the iTunes Store for $USD2.99.
