1980s theme park ad inadvertently becomes creepy with haunting singing

In this 1987 TV commercial for Marineland in Niagara Falls, children enjoy a day at the theme park as they ride the roller coaster, watch the whales, and feed the deer. Really fun stuff – if it weren’t for the creepy singing and even creepier mascot.

The video features a talking walrus dressed in royal robes. His name is King Waldorf and he leads the kids in singing a jingle called ‘Happiness is Marineland’.

If you’ve seen a lot of contemporary horror films, you’d know kids singing together can be highly disturbing, especially when they’re with an anthropomorphic walrus.

And if that weren’t enough to give you nightmares, just check out the two pandas at 0:23. Good luck sleeping tonight.
