In Oklahoma, workers discover eerie chalkboard drawings from a hundred years ago

While doing some renovation work at the Emerson High School in Oklahoma City, workers removed old chalkboards and discovered something cool underneath: more chalkboards! Except these ones date all the way back to 1917.

The antique chalkboards contained writings and illustrations of pilgrims, musical notes, multiplication tables, and possible demonic cult inscriptions.

Based on the content, school officials estimate the chalkboards were covered up sometime around Thanksgiving or Christmas.

After seeing the relics for the first time, faculty and staff noted how they were able to get a glimpse of teaching styles back then.

“The penmanship blows me away, because you don’t see a lot of that anymore,” principal Sherry Kishore told NewsOK. “Some of the handwriting in some of these rooms is beautiful.”

A wheel-like multiplication table also led Kishore to comment, “I have never seen that technique in my life.”

The chalkboards were then accidentally erased by one of the students. Just kidding.

A school district spokeswoman announced that they are working with the city to preserve these artefacts.
