It’s human nature to measure someone’s performance in bed. So an Italian research team have created a platform to monitor your lover’s sexual performance via a wearable system.
Welcome to HuMOVE. We like to call it a wearable sex meter, but technically it’s “an accelerometer sensor for monitoring inertial parameters for sexual performance assessment and diagnosis”.
Basically, it’s a device that measure how long you last in bed. It’s about the size of a credit card, and you wear it on your back.
It wasn’t (to our knowledge) created for perverted pleasures, but rather to help doctors diagnose those with delayed or premature ejaculation.
In an interview with The Daily Dot, Dr Gastone Ciuti said that there are actually common obstacles in getting men diagnosed with premature ejaculation:
“There are psychological barriers. A person with this problem might be too shy to go to the doctor, so he won’t be able to evaluate if he has the condition.”
“It’s a very simple device,” said Dr Ciuti in an interview with Relaxnews. “It’s the same size as a credit card and thanks to the storage capacity we have a record to work with if we want to conduct a follow up on how a drug may be working, for example.”
Hooray for no more embarrassing doctor visits!
HuMOVE is still a prototype for now. The team hopes to create a smaller, less visible device, because, you know, sexy time just isn’t sexy when he’s wearing a recording device.
